Mobile Alloy Wheel Reconditioning and Repair

We come to you! You love your ride and want it to look its best. We do too! And we think it should be convenient! It happens to the best of us - CURB RASH! That sidewalk at the drive through or bank window that sticks out too far, a trip down a gravel road, debris on the highway, chemical discoloration from the car wash, oxidation, sun fading, damage from road construction and potholes, or maybe you’ve been dreaming about customizing the color of your rims. From minor scratches to cracked or bent rims, our exceptional service will get you safely back on the road in style.

What is Alloy Wheel Conditioning?

Alloy wheel reconditioning is the process of repairing scratches, scrapes, chips, flaking, and other cosmetic damage to the face and bead (edge) of the rim which is often caused by curbs, road debris, chemicals and other hazards. This damage is often referred to as Curb Rash.

Our technicians are especially skilled at creating the best color match for your wheels, no matter how old or damaged they may be. And thanks to our clever mobile repair techniques, there is no need to remove the tires or wheels. We come to you and all the work is completed quickly, and with the wheels still on the vehicle, saving you time and money.

For wheels with a painted finish, we begin the reconditioning process by thoroughly cleaning the wheel to expose damaged areas. We then begin to plane out the damage by deftly utilizing a series of specialized tools to reshape the wheel. Our next step is a thorough cleaning and preparation for the paint work. We use only top quality automotive paint and materials. All of which are expertly applied in combination with paint guns designed specifically for this type of work, so there’s very little waste and no risk of overspray. After the rims have been painted, we then apply a clear coat to match the original finish as well as offer a layer of protection from basic road wear.

For machine polished rims and high polish steel wheels, we have developed a slightly different procedure. This begins with the same prep and damage removal process, then depending on the original finish we employ various methods of buffing, polishing, and/or paints and clear coats to achieve the desired finish.

With our 17+ years of experience, you can be confident that we’ve got you covered no matter what type of wheels you need us to fix.

Aftercare

Every wheel is different and they come in thousands of styles, sizes and finishes. Depending on the wheel and the severity of the damage, the paint process may require multiple coats or layers to achieve the proper color and effect. To achieve the best finish and protection, we use a clear coat which cures and hardens over the course of 72 hours following the repair, so please keep in mind that the wheels cannot be washed during that period. In fact we recommend that you not wash the vehicle at all for 3 days after the work is completed. The truth is, a simple soap and water wash is always the safest treatment for your car’s paint and finish. But don’t worry, once our tech has completed the work and returned your keys, your car will be ready to hit the road again regardless of the curing times.

Bent or Cracked Rims

In more severe cases such as cracked or bent rims, we take your wheels into the shop for repair. This kind of damage can result in more serious wear and tear to your vehicle and more costly repair expenses, making our service a wise investment. We use industry standard equipment to repair the serious damage, then repaint the rim for a perfect finish. Your rims will look and drive as good as new at a fraction of the price of a replacement rim.
